A lifetime
in the
rhythm.
Born in New York City and shaped by Miami’s club culture, DMS12 was buying records at six and interning at Miami’s HOT 105 by thirteen. A lifelong love of music became a career spanning DJ sets, production, remixes, and dance floors around the world.
In 1990, he entered Miami’s club scene as a promoter and DJ. Around 1995, he bought his first production equipment, bringing the instincts he had developed behind the turntables into the studio. His sound grew into a cross-cultural fusion of house, Tribal House, Latin rhythms, and soulful influences, with full, lush, richly layered production.
In 2001, DMS12 signed a three-year management deal with Emilio Estefan and became a writer for FIPP, a subsidiary of Universal Publishing. From 2004 onward, he focused on production and remix projects, including Beyoncé’s “Naughty Girl” (DMS12 Remix), which reached No. 1 on Billboard Dance and No. 1 on dance radio charts for 27 weeks, and Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” (DMS12 Mix), which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Dance Chart. His remix credits also include India.Arie, Lauryn Hill, Carlos Ponce, Oscar G, Willie Morales, Winx, Newcleus, Mark Knight, and Mr. Gee.
In August 2007, Paul van Dyk placed “Heavy Water” by DMS12 vs. Aniosis at No. 1 in his Top 10. In 2009, David Guetta ranked DMS12 at No. 4 on his Summer Hype Chart in Pacha magazine.
His music has appeared on compilations including Amnesia Ibiza 2006 Essential, mixed by Robbie Rivera; Willie Morales’ Juicy Beach WMC 2007 on Juicy Music; Juicy Ibiza, mixed by Robbie Rivera; Oscar G: Live from Space on Nervous Records and Cr2; and Amnesia Festival: Live in Moscow, mixed by Robbie Rivera. Between 2009 and 2015, DMS12 was featured on more than 100 CD compilations and earned over 20 Top 10 tracks across Beatport, Trackitdown, iTunes, and other charts.
In 2014, DMS12 and Oscar G teamed up for the hit “4000 Miles” on Nervous Records. From underground clubs to mainstream audiences, his productions are built around hypnotic grooves, musical depth, and the energy of a moving dance floor.
Travel remains part of his creative process. Across Europe, Asia, Japan, Canada, and North, Central, and South America, DMS12 gathers sounds and influences that continue to shape his universal musical mix.
